What an honor. Although the Phat Tuesdays doocu-series was on a competing streaming platform, Amazon Prime, Netflix crossed the aisle like Democrats and Republicans and made Phat Tuesdays part of their 2022 NETFLIX IS A JOKE FESTIVAL and held it at THE COMEDY STORE where PHAT TUESDAYS was born. That was not only special, it was HUGE.
GUY TORRY - HOST OF PHAT TUESDAYS
The line-up for this show was unbelievable. So diverse and tight from top to bottom. I had to put my nephew on the bill so he can experience PHAT TUESDAYS and he can. see where he is as a new comic.
THE COMEDY STORE. The nostalgia of being back a the venue where it all started was surreal. The smell of the place. The neon lights. The energy. The stage. MAN, it felt great to be back on that stage in the MAIN ROOM.
It was on and popping again. PHAT TUESDAYS at it's finest. The audience was buzzing with anticipation of a great show. The line-up did not disappoint. It lived up to its expectations and the audience even got more than they came to see.
b was no stranger to PHAT TUESDAYS. He performed at the ORIGINAL PHAT TUESDAYS and crafted some of his classic bits on that stage. It was like old times, DEON making the crowd buckle over with laughter.
My nephew did his thing. It was great to see him work a crowd that wasn't familiar with him. He understood the assignment and did five minutes of FUNK. He hit them in the mouth for 5 minutes and left them knowing who he is.
All hail the QUEEN. LUENELL is another PHAT TUESDAYS alumni continued to sharpen her comedy chops at PHAT TUESDAYS. She was already well on her way back in the day there, but she got even better. This show was no different she killed.
AFFION came through and wowed the crowd. His energy was right for the night and added some extra comedy seasoning on the show. His humor made the crowd appreciate the art of impressions and physical comedy. He fit right in with the rest of us misfits toys.
EPPS was NOT on the line up, but just like back in old days of PHAT TUESDAYS, it doesn't give a FUCK. You find a spot for him and he immediately makes your show hotter than butt crack sweat. They got a real treat that night. That was the beauty of PT you never knew who would drop in.
This was AMANDA'S very first time on a PHAT TUESDAYS show and I was excited to have here on the line-up. Not only is she FUNNY, but thought provoking, edgy and smart. It was like PHAT TUESDAYS PhD. that night. She would have done well at the ORIGINAL PHAT TUESDAYS.
MATEEN was right in the pocket. He brought a different energy and FUNNY to PHAT TUESDAYS that set him apart from the other comedians. A line-up should just that. Different, FUNNY and FRESH. A well crafted line-up is the recipe for a great show. That's what made PHAT TUESDAYS LEGENDARY.
CHRIS was CHRIS. FUNNY. WITTY. SMOOTH and HILARIOUS. CHRIS is a PHAT TUESDAYS veteran. Not too many can read an audience as quick as CHRIS SPENCER. a very clever writer and performer. He has the talent to do brother effortlessly. He had right amount of funny and energy to continue an already funny show.
KOUNTRY WAYNE was just that country as a MF. And it worked. Many in LA hadn't seen him. But he made sure they did that night. His first PHAT TUESDAYS show and the crowd enjoyed his comedy like a plate oof collard greens, Mac and cheese and some good ole coornbread.
MATT gave the crowd just what they wanted. Some honesty, some diversity and some funny ass bits.
His first PHAT TUESDAYS show was a good one. He displayed a simple brad of humor that was straight to to the point. It's easy doing 5 min but he worked it and delivered a set that was fun and entertaining.
JAY is a PHAT TUESDAYS ALUMNI that was NOT on the line-up but come on, it's JAY PHILLIPS. He knows what PHAT TUESDAYS is. He came on stage and gave the crowd a taste of what the old PHAT TUESDAYS was with an UPGRADE. Glad he fell through and grabbed the mic like the legend he is.
Didn't even know this dude was in town. He fell through and brought that CHI-TOWN comedy MOJO on this crowd. HE'S another PHAT TUESDAYS head that understood the assignment. This was no work out night. When you show up, you better show out. This was not the night for that. Salute.
This dude ain't never seen a mic he didn't like. No lie, I seen. him do a show a funeral in LONG BEACH. The confidence he has is backed up by how funny he is. Don't let the 'Hood mentality fool you, dude got jokes. That's what the line-up needed, that funny with a touch of WEST SIDE!
PHAT TUESDAYS was not just about the comedians, the ladies, the industry or the adult beverages. It was a fashion show. People put on their best rags to attend a PHAT TUESDAYS event. This night was no different. You got to check yourself out before you hit that stage. I'm BLACK.
Those who know me, know that I LOVE my Adidas. These custom made joints were madeabout 9 years ago. I was waiting on just the right time tooo wear them, and BAM! This was the PERFECT time to strut non stage with a one of a kind pair of kicks. PHAT TUEESDAYS and ADIDAS, BOTH ORIGINALS.
This PHAT TUESDAYS show was on the EXACT same night that DAVE CHAPPELLE got attacked on stage at the HOLLYWOOD BOWL. We had heard about it and and was taking no shorts. The Will Smith slap had already happened, so I wasn't taking any chances. I went back on stage with this bat I found backstage.
