AFTER DARK COMEDY SERIES
In 2022 the LEGENDARY ESSENCE FESTIVAL called on PHAT TUESDAY'S creator GUY TORRY to curate the comedy. for their After Dark Comedy, comedy weekend. Guy would create 3 great shows at the JOY THEATER on CANAL STREET, that not only sold out, it was a HILARIOUS and a great addition to Essence's already great line-up of entertainment. Guy Torry and his team put together some legendary line ups of vertrans and up and coming comedians. He also incorporated some local comics to round out the shows to add some local New Orleans flavor to the mix. The ESSENCE FEST is a legendary Music, Arts, and Entertainment Festival that should be on everyone's bucket list if you are a fan of great music, great food, great comedy and great entertainment, not to mention NEW ORLEANS.

The JOY Theater is a great venue for entertainment. It's small but BIG. They way it's designed makes it look BIG, but it's intimate. It's dope. I LOVED it. It's prefect for comedy. The staff was great as well. I can't wait to perform there again.

It was an honor to have been invited to curate and show case PHAT TUESDAYS at the ESSENCE FESTIVAL. I was in 1000%. I wanted to make sure that I didn't FUCK this up. It was dope. The shows sold well. The talent was superior and the response was unbelievable.

The staff at ESSENCE wanted to do something different and add more comedy to 'FESTIVAL. The PHAT TUESDAYS docu-series was out and killing the rating and it was time for people outside of HOLLYWOOD to experience LIVE. The AFTER DARK series did just that.

The incredible BIG TIGGER was the deejay for. the night. He definitely set the party off right. There's just some deejays who just know how to move a crowd and TIGGER did that and then some. He is a LEGEND so of course the start of the show was safe in the hands of TIG!

This was MS. PRETTY RICKI'S first PHAT TUESDAYS of any kind. She was awesome. NOLA was electric when she finished her set. AFFION CROCKETT is an original PHAT TUESDAYS veteran that brought to NEW ORLEANS a brand of comedy that hit their comedy G-SPOT.

Affion is anartist with many voices. All of them funny. He brought his cavalcade of funny to New Orleans and his surgical tools with him because he left them in stitches. They fucked around and found out in NOLA.

BIG TIGGER was one of the decays for the three day event and he rocked the crowd like it was MADISON SQUARE GARDEN. He set the tone for the night and made all the comedian's job little easier by getting the party started early.
DJ JUANE JORDAN
DJ JUANE JORDAN, electrified the crowd like MICHAEL JORDAN. His style of party starting was different from BIG TIGGER but just as dope. The two deejays would be a welcomed part of any comedy show.
